O N E H U N D R E D.

I do not know this man. In fact, I’d never heard of him until a couple of weeks ago, just like most of the world....

But now on this day, 30th April 2020, CAPTAIN TOM MOORE is not only celebrated for reaching the monumental age of 100, but for his absolutely astonishing achievement of raising over £30,000,000 for the NHS.

Read that again.

Cpt.Tom Moore at 99 years old raised the most amount of money via justgiving in history. And now Cpt.Tom Moore himself will go down in history as the world salutes him, a true legend and absolute hero of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Imagine being a century in age, not of the social media or online way of life. He’s probably never taken a selfie or used a hashtag and definitely doesnt know what ‘doing it for the gram’ means.

Nope, this gentleman just decided one day to do something that would challenge him, and something ‘small’ he could do to help in a time of crisis; walk a few lengths of his garden each day and raise a few quid in doing so... never in his wildest dreams would have have anticipated the media frenzy a ‘lad from Yorkshire’ was about to make and how the ENTIRE WORLD would be speaking his name.

So, as I mentioned at the start, I do not know this man... but today on his 100th milestone birthday I feel the need to wish all my love, support and gratitude to him- he will probably never see this message, but that doesn’t matter as he most likely never thought anyone would know or see him walk his garden... yet look where we are now.

If ever there were a moral to story it is HERE:

‘no matter how small you think your efforts are, they matter. It doesn’t take the rich, famous and blue ticked to make a difference, it just takes one decision and a genuine want to help, even in the smallest of ways. For it is true, from small things big things grow’.

Happy birthday Cpt.Tom Moore. I do hope you know how much you are loved and how you have changed so many peoples lives. May you live a very long and healthy life ahead of your 100 years, because this world NEEDS people like you in it. 🎂💗
