QEll had all our hearts today.
For the past 2 weeks, before the passing of HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, I started to watch The Crown. I have been glued to it from episode 1. I absolutely fell in love with Prince Philip.
It’s no secret that I’m a huge royalist & very proud Brit, but learning more about our Queen has given me so much inspiration on how to tackle life, & given me even more admiration for Her Majesty.
So as I sat today watching a family say goodbye to a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather I felt much sadness for all the Windsors but most of all this lady sat on her own. A true reminder that being Royal doesn’t make you immortal or exempt.
Almost 70 years Queen Elizabeth ll has had sovereignty, a job she was not born to do, a job thrust upon her, and I can’t help but feel it was the loyal, outspoken, forward thinking Duke by her side that kept her reigning so strong making her the Queen she became & continues to be; the longest reigning monarch, a much loved one too.
This got me to thinking just how important who we surround ourselves with in life is.
It was a sad day, but even though a sombre occasion the British pomp & parade (albeit paired-down) is always a joy & brings the country together.
The royal family is a tradition, and tradition brings comfort.
Long live The Queen. #princephilip
