#PEOPLEWITHPURPOSE A series celebrating wonderful people, doing wonderful things, something the Japanese call 'IKIAGI'.

1./ Hey! Please introduce yourself.

Hi! My name is Alex Jackson and I am based in Goondiwindi where I was also born and grew up. I am a mum to a beautiful one year old girl who keeps my husband and I on our toes! We also own a small cattle block just outside of town and I work part time for ANZ Agribusiness.

2./ Wow, you are one very busy lady! What is your IKIAGI and how did you come to finding it, why you love it and how it makes you feel?

My IKIAGI is creating beautiful photo books and prints. I have been making/printing/displaying/gifting photos all of my life! I have always had a huge appreciation for photography and beautiful photos but just never had the time to explore this professionally.

Photos are the most amazing things, a memory, capturing a special moment in time, that we will never exactly experience again and I think there is something magical about this and displaying them (literally everywhere!) in my own home just makes me so happy and grateful!

3./ Tell us about what you used to do before your found your 'IKIAGI' , how that made you feel and why you knew it was time to change / If you are working your IKIAGI as a side hustle tell us how you work that around your day job.

I have just recently returned to work after maternity leave (with a little bit of anxiety about the change and being away from my girl). While I was on leave I had this constant tugging thought in my head that I wanted to do something creative, something I was super passionate about to spark that other side of me. Also something I could potentially do from home in my spare time and hopefully on future maternity leave. As much as I love my day job, it doesn't always allow me to tap into my creative side. I have never considered myself very arty so I started to think maybe I didn't have that one skill that I was really good at. And one day at home it literally just came to me like a light bulb moment when I was thinking about putting together a first year-book for my little girl and that is when Memory Lane Prints was created! It ticked all the boxes. I am still navigating the logistics of the business, being reasonably new with starting back to work in January and the business in February (am I mad) and never having had my own business before, but I am seriously loving the projects I have worked on so far and SO excited for some amazing things in the making and stoked that I finally made the leap of faith!

I was finding myself some nights or weekends mindlessly scrolling through social media which has now been replaced with meaningful work on my beautiful books and prints.  The name is also very close to my heart, with Lane being mine and my daughters middle name.

4./ Tell us about your products/ services and what you offer.

Memory Lane Prints specialises in creating stunning photo books, prints, thank you cards, save the date cards, really any photo products you can think of! We are a service aimed at the busy and time poor who have 100's of beautiful photos saved on their phone or computer of their loved ones or an amazing overseas trip that they've been meaning to put into a book or print but just never got around to it! The feedback I receive from our clients is that they desperately want to complete these projects but the thought of sitting down and sifting through and organising their photos puts them off the project all together. The beauty of this service is we take on all of the hard work, and gladly because I really enjoy it!

Our lives I feel are just getting busier and busier and so my hope is to provide a service where clients can cherish their special memories for many years to come and in this current environment spread some love and joy!

5./ What sets your soul on fire & what is your dream for your business for the future?

All of the above! As i've said I am super passionate about all things photos and my dream is to keep creating beautiful quality products for our clients and continue to enjoy myself along the way!

6./ We absolutely love this! What is your website address/ social handles for people to find you?

We just love this idea and love Alex's passion, care and thought process that brought her to creating this beautiful concept and business. Alex is right, we take so many photos these days capturing wonderful memories and most of the time these once in a lifetime moments stay stuck in cyber space or on our devices. There is nothing I enjoy more than sitting down with my Mum looking through old REAL photos, touching and feeling them as i study the who, where and what. These books are the perfect gift for a special occassion but also the perfect gift to yourself to treasure your moments and memories.
