On a blustery but hot August morning I was honoured to be part of a brilliant FREE event in Goondiwindi Town Park hosted by Rural Sky, a charity that works tirelessly to help rural people of all ages manage and maintain their mental health.
This holistic approach to wellness wasa morning full of mood-boosting activities and exercises including yoga, tap dancing, oil painting and drumming to get everyone moving, thinking, laughing and being creativite.
Kicking off at 10.30am I was overwhelmed by the number of people that made a healthy choice on a Saturday morning and jumped on their mat to breathe, bend and be. All ages, genders, abilities came together for my class and each and every one of the faces in front of me had a smile shining brighter than the Queensland sun.
An amazing inititive by Rural Sky's Katherine Johnson and Suzie Collins that got locals from Goondiwindi trying new things, learning new skills and stepping out of their comfort zone which I do hope will be a more regular thing.
Rural Sky do some amazing things, if you would lile to earn more about their services, or get in touch with them take a look at their facebook page or visit their website for more info.
