Happy #worldearthday a day to celebrate and thank our home. It’s perhaps not something we think about day to day, usually, but with a slower pace lately and reduced noise physically and metaphorically, many of us have opened our eyes and our ears to the wonders of what is right on our doorstep.
I have been fortunate enough to travel a little bit of this planet and see some incredible things: natural, manmade, cultures and customs and none of that will I ever take for granted.
It’s quite magical when you think about it, the number of different creatures and species that call earth ‘home’, how we humans have evolved into arguably the most complex of beings. It fascinates me how architecture still stands from thousands of year since being built and how archaeologist every day discover something new.
Language and accent fascinates me. How driving an hour up the road can find you hearing new words or words with new meanings. Is dinner at 12pm or 6pm? I drink my tea not eat it!
There is such vastness of the earth yet the world is getting smaller. Technology has taken us and can take us to the tiniest corner and deepest depth, thank goodness for Attenborough.
Built up cities, continuous wastelands, snowy mountains and singing rainforests... no two places are the same.
The earth gives us life, hope and comfort... but it also brings us death, destruction and fear. The earth has it’s own mind, it is living and breathing just as what grows from it and on it. We may try to control the earth in so many ways, but it is uncontrollable and maybe now we are all beginning to realise that. We have all be told to be kind to one another, that includes the place we live.
So thank you planet earth, for the air I breathe, the water I drink, the fire that keeps me warm and the wind that sweeps away a bad day.
Please keep turning, please keep going and please accept our apology... we do love you. 🌍💙💫
